This gallery is a sampling of some of the photos I've taken over the last 3 months. It's a thankyou for all the love and support I get from so many wonderful people here and around the world.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM FALL 2010:_SINGIN' & SWINGIN' Or, in the case of Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, pluckin' and fiddlin' at the Granada. ___Out at Campbell Hall: Ziggy Marley gave the kids some big fun, Jamaica style, at his Family concert, and Laurie Anderson's aural and visual exploration of Delusion (a timely subject, for sure) was one of her most evocative and creative shows yet. __Over at the Lobero, Omara Portuondo proved that even at 80 she can transport us with her powerful talent, voice , charm and wit! Procol Harem made it clear that they were and are more than a one-hit wonder; they are a unique and wonderful affimation that an act from the past can still move us, and make us move. David Grisman and his Quintet put on the Dawg big time with a set of swinging, soulful and high energy jazz-grass gyrotechnical music for the mind and body. __Sings Like Hell kept our feet to the flames: John Doe and Band rocked; Todd Snider gave us an evening of wry quirky humor and wry quirky songs; Anais Mitchell brought her enchanting "folk-opera" Hadestown (based on the myth of Orpheus), ably assisted by Sean Hayes, John Elliott, Thao Nguyen and a host of others. __Classical high points: Nir Kabareti & Santa Barbara Symphony's Mahler Five; Dresden Staatskappel w/Rudolph Buchbinder; Christopher O'Riley; Sergio Tiempo; Patricia Racette w/Daniela Mack. ____DANCiN' & PRANCIN'UCSB Arts & Lectures brought some luminary companies including: Pilobolus, Corella Ballet Castilla y Leon and Paul Taylor Dance. ___Ballet Santa Barbara's Wisperfal was a delightful new take on the 4 seasons, State Street Ballet's Arsen Serobian and Victoria Luchkina danced exquisite leads in Rodney Gufstafson's Romeo & Juliet., and UCSB Dance presented States of Mind, intriguing new pieces by student and faculty choreographers. ___ ACTIN' UP, ACTIN' OUT Starving class warfare at Center Stage courtesy of Genesis West and Sam Shepard, complete with a live lamb! How extreme would you get if you were really, really hungry, physically and psychically? ___Driving lessons involved more than cars when Uncle Peck was the instructor in UCSB Theater's thought-provoking production of "How I learned to Drive." __Ensemble Theatre's "Housewives of Mannheim" and "The Mystery of Irma Vep" went from emotionally charged drama to rave-up cross-dressing camp.

ODDS & ENDS department: A few of the photos of Herb and Elaine Kendall's extensive and beautifully varied collection of artworks made for another stimulating session of photography - at least the subjects didn't move around very much! __ The Marjorie Luke Theatre was the setting for "Glee at the Luke," an interview and panel discussion with the creators and stars of that hit TV show.

STAY TUNED: DANCEworks Santa Barbara begins February 22nd, so there will be new photos and videos added regularly during the month-long residency of Doug Elkins and his company - dance on!
