Winter quarter 2013 highlights: For some wacky comic relief courtesy of Peabody Charter School's Upstarts Youth Theatre, check out Mummy Dearest. State Street Ballet joined forces with the Santa Barbara Symphony for Bill Soleau's new choreography set to Stravinsky's Firebird. Opera Santa Barbara's Aida was set during the recent Arab Spring and featured AK47s, a jeep and waterboarding. Robert Sund's Beauty and the Beast by State Street Ballet was funny, dark, touching and beautifully done. The Faulkner Gallery at the SB Library, add three talented pianists, add Bach, Debussy & Stravinsky, stir it all together and you've got the Santa Barbara Music Club's Pianofest!
