A roundup of excerpts from The Fall 2013 Season starting with Robert Sund's witty and exuberant "Taming of the Shrew" performed by State Street Ballet; then a taste of "Le Petit Prince," brought to vivd life by actress Pamela Dillman Haskell with wonderful musical accompaniment by composer/guitarist Maya Le Roux Obradovic; next up - Westmont College Theater Dept.'s talented students performing "The Pirates of Penzance," given a big dose of Lit Moon Theatre Co. director John Blondell's magic; then on to Out of the Box Theatre Company's great production of "Carrie, the Musical" and ending with the multi talented Tyne Daly, first channeling Gypsy Rose Lee and then reading a biting skewering of that overused word "fine" – part of the "Curtain Up" gala opening of the completely re-done New Vic Theatre.
