DANCEworks 2014: Mark Dendy Projects – Dystopian Distractions! A brave new work commissioned by DANCEworks Santra Barbara and the Lobero Theatre Foundation, had its triumphant world premiere April 26th. Dystopian Distractions! is a provocative, thought–provoking Dance Theater exploration of the country's long fascination with war and military culture which permeates so many aspects of our lives. Mark Dendy uses dark humor, exuberant movement, great dance and music to make a unique anti-war theatrical experience like none other! Excerpts from the performance.
